On our venue templates, the venue (walls, stairs, pillars, venue lines and so on) is on layers that are kept locked with a password. If you try to unlock them, the Locked Layers Access box asks for a password. We don't give out this password.
We do this because:
- Users might accidentally move or delete essential parts of the venue.
- The venue could be scaled, mirrored or changed in a way that makes the file unusable.
- Once a venue symbol is exploded, it is no longer linked to our system, so any updates we make to the venue won't reach your floorplan automatically.
Need the venue changed?
If something in the venue is wrong or needs changing (for example missing walls, air walls, or a hall added or removed), please contact us and send your EFD file with the details. We make the change on our side and, on cloud-linked templates, your floorplan updates automatically.
Hide venue items you don't want to see
You don't need to unlock anything to hide venue items. Turn their layers off in each View:
Click 'Manage Views' on the HOME ribbon.
Select the View(s), click Edit, then click the LAYERS tab.
Turn off the layers you don't want shown, then click OK.
See View Layers for more.
NOTE: If you need full control of the venue, the only option is to import the venue yourself from the venue's DWG file (see Import a DWG / DXF). Your plan will then no longer update automatically when we update the venue.
