What is a Line?
Think of a Line like a single piece of string. If you draw a square using four separate lines, you have four individual pieces. If you try to move or change the square, you have to click and edit all four pieces one by one.
What is a Polyline?
A Polyline connects those pieces into one single object. Instead of four separate lines, your square is now a single shape that stays glued together.
Why are Polylines better?
- Easier to work with: You can click once to select, move, or resize an entire shape instead of picking apart single lines.
- Adjust thickness: You can make the outline thicker or thinner with one click.
- Fill with color: You can easily color inside closed shapes.
- Turn into floorplan features: You can instantly convert a polyline into key floorplan objects like Stands, Zones, Gangway Carpets, or Hall Boundaries.
- Curve your shapes: You can easily smooth straight polylines into curved lines (Splines).
