Create an offline copy of your floorplan
The easiest way to make an offline copy of your floorplan, either to work on separately to the Master Plan or to use for next year's show, is to copy the latest file from the Versioning folder. Files in the Versioning folder aren't linked to Floorplan Live, so your copy won't affect the Master Plan.
Naming your copy
- For a new show: use the new show name for both the new folder and the EFD file.
- For a temporary copy (e.g. trying out redraws): create a folder called Scenarios with a descriptive subfolder for each copy, so you know what each copy was for and everything stays organised.
In Windows File Explorer, go to the folder where your master drawing is saved and open the Versioning folder. It is in the same location as your master file (see Open a Previous Version of a Drawing).
Find the latest copy by checking Date modified (e.g. switch to Details view and sort by Date modified). Click on the latest copy and press Ctrl+C to copy it.
Create a new folder with a different name (see Naming your copy above), open it and press Ctrl+V to paste the file into it.
Give the pasted EFD file a different name too (see Naming your copy above).
Open the copied file in EFD and immediately change the show name and dates (Exhibition Name, Start Date and End Date) in Drawing Properties on the SETTINGS ribbon.
NOTE: Don't copy and paste your master .EFD file itself. If it is linked to Floorplan Live, the copy connects to Floorplan Live and your master plan can then be rejected (see Not the master plan). Always copy the file from the Versioning folder.
