You can make a symbol bigger or smaller in three ways. Changing the scale boxes on the ribbon is the easiest, so we recommend it. You can also use the Scale function, and you can reset a symbol back to its default size at any time.

Method 1: Change the scale boxes on the ribbon (Recommended)
Select the symbol, or several symbols, you want to resize. The menu at the top of your screen changes to show the symbol options.
In the Symbol group, next to Rotate, find the X Scale and Y Scale boxes.
Type a new scale factor in the X Scale box (width) and the Y Scale box (height), then press Enter. For example, 2 makes the symbol twice as big and 0.5 makes it half the size.
TIP: Use the same number in both boxes to keep the symbol in proportion.
Method 2: Use the Scale function
Select the symbol(s) you want to resize.
Click Scale in the Edit group on the ribbon.
Follow the prompts on screen to set the new size.
Reset a symbol to its default size
Select the symbol(s).
Click Reset Symbol in the Symbol group. This sets the X Scale and Y Scale back to 1, which is the default size.
