Error: "Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel"

You may see an Event Floorplan Designer error box that starts with:

"System.AggregateException: One or more errors occurred. ---> System.Net.Http.HttpRequestException: An error occurred while sending the request. ---> System.Net.WebException: The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel. ---> System.Security.Authentication.AuthenticationException: The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure."

Why does this happen?

Your computer's date, time or time zone is wrong or out of sync. EFD uses a secure connection to download information such as venue symbols, and that connection can't be checked properly if your computer's clock is wrong.

How to fix it

  1. Click OK to close the message.

  2. In Windows, open Settings > Time & language > Date & time.

  3. Turn on Set time automatically and Set time zone automatically, then click Sync now.

  4. Check that the date, time and time zone are now correct.

  5. Close EFD and open it again.

If the error still appears, please contact us.
